Investor: Golden Angels Network
The Golden Angels Network, based in Milwaukee, is an angel network consisting of 60 members, half of which are Marquette University alumni. The organization was formed at Marquette in 2003 by current director Tim Keane as a way to connect university alumni and friends with entrepreneurs seeking assistance in growing their businesses. The group currently focuses on exploring investment opportunities in Wisconsin, Illinois, and other Midwest-based early-stage technology and emerging growth companies. The Golden Angels Network believes that a critical component of the investment decision is people - entrepreneurs and teams with integrity, a track record of accomplishments, and good reputations. Fortunately, Golden Angels has been able to find quite a few companies that meet that requirement in spades. Since 2003, the Network has invested $3.2 million in seven companies, with early-stage capital generally being provided in the $250,000 - $750,000 range. The Golden Angels Network is a founding-member of the Wisconsin Angel Network.
