Linking the I-Q Corridor
Building off
successful I-Q Corridor events in River
Falls, Madison and Milwaukee, WAN will continue to
produce opportunities to connect investors and
entrepreneurs, helping to expand our regional
economy.
As a member of the organizing committee for the
Midwest
Venture Summit, WAN is co-producing
angel-specific round tables focused on Deal
Syndication and Portfolio
Diversification. Attendance at the summit is
expected to be more than 100 investors from the
I-Q Corridor and across the United States.
Other I-Q Corridor investors' meetings
will be held during the Entrepreneurs'
Conference (June 9-10, Milwaukee), the Early
Stage Symposium (November 5-6, Madison) and
the continuing series of Illinois
Business and Investors Forums. Tentative plans
include another I-Q Corridor meeting
between Minnesota and Wisconsin investors at UW-River
Falls.
Investment
Policy
WAN members were instrumental in
forwarding suggestions for improving Wisconsin's
investment climate to the Wisconsin Technology
Council, which in turn presented many of those
ideas to the governor and the Legislature. Read

Pitches to
Investors
WAN provides opportunities for
entrepreneurs to pitch to investors. Presentation
opportunities will be available at the
Entrepreneurs' Conference, the Early Stage
Symposium, the Illinois Business and Investors
Forums and the Midwest Venture Summit.
2007 Investing Metrics
WAN tracked
more than $120
million in early- and later-stage deals in
2007, however many deals go unreported. To capture
unreported investment rounds, attorneys across
Wisconsin are tallying the deals they led for
entrepreneurs last year. The result will be the
2007 Risk Capital Report, a comprehensive
analysis of entrepreneurial investing in
Wisconsin. The report will be released in late
spring. Follow this

Deal-flow Pipeline
The Deal-flow
Pipeline is the first successful on-line tool
linking entrepreneurs with many diverse angel
networks and funds. More than 160 entrepreneurs
have uploaded executive summaries and WAN's 26
investor-members have access. In 2008 a transition
will occur to a new form of the Deal-flow Pipeline
designed to enhance deal sharing and collaboration
among investors throughout the region.
