Deal-flow Pipeline
The Deal-flow
Pipeline (DFP) is the meeting point for
entrepreneurs and investors. More than 160
executive summaries have been posted by Wisconsin
entrepreneurs looking for equity financing. WAN's
26 investor-member organizations have access to
the site, representing more than 250 investors and
hundreds of millions of dollars under management.
I-Q Corridor Investors'
Symposium
The inaugural I-Q Corridor
Investors' Symposium was held at UW-River Falls on
October 3. About 200 investors, community leaders
and business professionals gathered to discuss
collaboration between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The
event concluded with an evening reception
featuring Governor
Jim Doyle and a keynote speech by serial
entrepreneur Mark

Illinois Investors' and
Business Forum (ILBIF)
WAN teamed up with
the ILBIF
to utilize video conferencing technologies to
connect investors throughout the I-Q Corridor.
Investors watch investment pitches, share deals
and learn more about each others' investment
interests.
Other Activities Along the I-Q Corridor and
Beyond
In order to enhance the connection
between investors and entrepreneurs across the I-Q
Corridor, WAN participates in a number of regional
activities including the Midwest
Venture Summit, advising a new on-line
connection point in Minnesota called "GetGo",
organizing private meetings between investors, and
participating in events in the Twin Cities and
Chicago.
Nationally, WAN is an active
member of the Angel
Capital Association, an organization of angel
networks committed to enhancing and advocating for
early-stage capital throughout the U.S.
Angel Network Formation
The Wisconsin
Angel Network helps communities and individuals
start angel networks and funds. New networks and
funds greatly help Wisconsin's entrepreneurs by
increasing the supply of investment capital in the
market.
Programming and Events
During 2007
WAN assisted with many programs and events
including the Governor's Business Plan Contest,
the Entrepreneurs' Conference, the Early Stage
Symposium, the Wisconsin Innovation Network, the
Midwest Emerging Company Showcase, and Wisconsin's
BIO2007 convention pavilion.

The resource
pages on WAN's website host a number of useful
tools and links for entrepreneurs and investors.
Additions in 2007 included on-demand videos for

Tech Council White Papers
Many
recommendations found in the Tech Council White
Papers have been enacted in the most recent state
budget, including those in investment capital.
WAN, its advisory board and members weighed in on
the creation of the investment capital white
papers, which recommended the expansion of the
early-stage investment tax credits and the
elimination of the capital gains tax for certain
investments. Follow
